| What
is it? |
 |
CadLib.net is the
ultimate solution to the mechanical standard parts libraries for any CAD
system. Being Internet based, all the parts are always updated and, at
the same time, you can work in an environment where your standards and
part numbers are defined. |
 |
| How
does it work? |
 |
Just registering for free
you will be allowed to access the library, using your web browser,
and:
browse the component database;
select the CAD format you need
(2D DXF, 2D IGES, 3D IGES, native Pro/Engineer, Catia);
define attributes such as part
number, description, material, plating, etc.: they are stored into your own database;
define users who are allowed
to use only the parts with an assigned part number;
The part will be created and
zipped in seconds, ready to be downloaded. |
 |
| What
does it mean floating license? |
 |
When a user logins to the
library, the license in kept for himself for 15 minutes since the last
time he has called a page. So the same license can be used by more users
in turn. Additional concurrent licenses cost € 199.00 each. |
 |
| What
does it contain? |
 |
In addition to several fastener
norms (DIN, ISO, UNI) and bearings, new industrial components are continously
added; register now for free using the side menu; or take a tour
and see which are the parts available at the moment. |
 |
| Which
are the advantages in comparison with the CD based libraries? |
 |
No installation.
Data are always updated in real
time.
The suppliers are always in
contact with their customers.
Best control for the
CAD Manager; users with restricted capabilities to use only given parts
and not all the library can be defined.
Company environment:
The parts are created on demand, according to the company standards and
the defined part numbers.
Possible link with E-commerce
systems, for example to get the availability in real time.

 |
| Which
are the software/hardware prerequisites? |
 |
CadLib.net just requires
a web browser (Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape 4.x or later) and an Internet
connection, so it can work both with Unix and Windows systems. There is
no additional software to install or plug-in to download. For Windows systems
just a software for uncompressing the files is required (for instance Winzip).
The 3D objects are about 100/130 KB, the 2D ones about 20 KB. The web pages
are light, so the library can be used also with slow connections. |
